Dear People,

Best wishes for a huge rally against monstrous wind turbine desecration of your beautiful country.

I live on the southern coastline of Australia and we have turbines placed there.This coast had not really changed since Captain James Cook and Matthew Flinders visited hundreds of years ago - now an industrial complex has destroyed this wild wilderness beauty.

And for what? Turbines will not make one iota of difference to the energy usage of the World - the developers of these monstrosities see the chance to dip into the public monies and cannot resist.

What price the destruction of untold numbers of birds and bats? As homo sapiens we destroy species in the Web of Life at our own peril.

My heart is with you on October 4.

Best wishes,

Yvonne McRae

20.09.2008

The members of DARN (Dollar Affected Residents Network) wish to voice their support for your actions in stopping the raping of your great nation by wind turbines. We wish you all the best as France with its beautiful landscapes does not need to be desecrated by monstrosities that do absolutely nothing to reduce the effects of greenhouse gases.

Good luck and never stop the fight

Barrabool Hills Landscape Guardians Inc

C/- 165 Mt Pollock Rd, Gnarwarre 3221, Australia

On behalf of all the fragmented residents who suffer at the hands of the wind industry, who work full time just keeping their heads above water in life in general and lack the skills or finances necessary to take on an industry with vast amounts of money to pay for scripted representation...we applaude your efforts in making a stand for your rights, common sense and the cultural heritage of your beautiful country.

Unfortunately our own beautiful landscape as well as many more hard working citizens are set to suffer both in Australia and in NZ as our governments ignore experience, new data, new science, environmental, social and economic viability of wind energy and instead appoint advisory committees dominated by industry hired consultants. Don't let these so called "experts" take control of your goverments policy writing. Undeniably, this is the key to their future financial gain in an emerging boom industry and that's where they will ensure minimal barriers to impede their stampede.

Will it take a proliferation of wind turbines in our countries with masses of families, communities and landscapes destroyed before authorities will take notice? This also is a complete contradiction to the economic, social and environmental principles of Sustainable Development.

If only we could make the trip to Paris to join you in your most worthy fight. We will be there in spirit. Good luck.

Letter of support for October 4, 2008 rally in Paris against wind farms

21.09.2008

Dear Colleagues

I offer you my complete and passionate support in your Octobre 4 Rally in Paris against the French governments plans to create wind farms throughout France. I agree with the eminent scientist James Lovelock that wind farms throughout the world will do absolutely nothing to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. All it will do is fatten the bank accounts of those involved in the "Renewable Energy" industry. Land, birds and other species are not renewable!

I am an ornithologist, and environmental painter from Canberra, Australia. Wind farms not only kill exquisite and endangered avifauna, they also destroy the habitat for the prey of these bird species, and the habitat of many other endangered fauna. It is now crucial for all governments around the world to acknowledge that grassland and forests should be protected, not destroyed. All scientists agree that trees and grasslands are an existing powerful tool to cool and heal the earth. Electricity needs to be powered by the most effective way possible, not by intermittent wind power, which cannot be stored.

I hope that your rally will reach out to the governments of the world, including the Australian government.

Yours sincerely

We have moved from South Gippsland in Victoria due, in part, to the ongoing stress involved in fighting wind power developments, and are no longer directly involved.

However I remain strongly opposed to wind energy and offer my strong support to the Paris protest.

These technological dinosaurs are a blight on the landscape, kill birds and fragment rural communities.

Their environmental claims are unsubstantiated yet governments continue to be persuaded by their deceptive and misleading propaganda.

Congratulations on organising a rally against proposed and existing wind turbines blighting your beautiful French countryside.

Our landscapes are precious and must be preserved for future generations.

As an Australian tourism company bringing tourists to France each year, I abhore the thought of your landscapes covered in turbines. I don't want to have to find new locations to take my tourists to in the world that don't have turbines covering them. Get your goverment to think of the economic losses and consider other alternatives to energy.

Please do all you can to stop them.

From Australia

22.09.2008

Hello,

I am a member of "The Friends of Crookwell Inc." (a landscape guardian affiliated group) from the Southern Tablelands of NSW Australia.

This group would like to wish you well with the October demonstration and offer you our heartfelt support. At present our group is fighting yet another wind farm development on the Southern Tablelands of NSW , this time in my own back yard - literally. The project is for 84 towers, each 135 m tall over a 22 km stretch of land. It appears that up to 6 of these will be only metres from my boundary fences on 3 sides of my farm.

I recognise the heartache, anger and personal / emotional drain that fighting wind turbine developers can cause - my husband and I have been doing this for 6 years now.

Wind turbine developments are simply an act of governments to placate the urban masses who feel reassured that climate change will be negated if large wind turbines are built (as long as the urban masses don't have to look at them or hear them or have their properties devalued by them). As you know, anyone who has taken the time to research the efficiency of this form of renewable energy knows that wind energy is just a fraud.

Good luck, my thoughts are with you all.

On behalf of the Western Plains Landscape Guardians, I send our best wishes for a successful rally on October 4th. We fully support your efforts to protect the cultural heritage and ecology of your beautiful country. The careless spread of massive wind turbines without proper consideration to the damage they do landscape, the heritage, the communities and flora and fauna must end before we are left with no more than an industrial wasteland. Your work to bring together the people of France to take a stand against the oppressive proliferation of wind turbines is impressive. Good luck.

Anti windfarm rally

24.09.2008

To the organisers of this wonderful event more power to you all!!! I so wish I could be there. France is a long way from Australia in kilometres but we are joined at the hip in our fight against these monstrous dinosaurs. This is a global fight, the inefficiencies of these things is well known and documented, even the industry themselves acknowledge they kill large numbers of birds, yet they continue to march across the world spreading like triffids. If we don't join together to stop our governments encouraging them with subsidies our landscapes will be littered with rusting hulks in the not too distant future for absolutely no benefit, nothing saved just a hell of a lot of money spent, birds slaughtered and a lot of lives ruined. We must continue to expose their lies and alert people to how this industry operates. Wherever they go in the world is the same, they treat people and local communities with contempt. If we stick together and use the power of the Internet we can stop them.

PS. France also holds a special place in my heart, my grandfather was an Australian war hero and was awarded 2 Military Medals for his bravery during the battle for Villers Bretonneux. I am hoping to visit this special place some time soon, I don't want to see the lovely landscape littered with towering turbines and spinning blades. Good luck to you all and please be aware that we are thinking of you and wish we could be there.

Bloody windfarms

29.09.2008

Just want to say ....good on ya Paris. Keep on fighting those bloody windfarms and don’t give up. We fought one here, the Dollar windfarm in South Gippsland Victoria Australia and WON. Well they went away. It was a 4 year fight and it took its toll on many but it was a sweet victory. So never give up and keep on fighting. I believe right is might.

Prom Coast Guardians Inc.

~~~~~~
We send our fraternal greetings and best wishes for the success of your conference and demonstration on October 4th.
Our community organisation has fought for many years to protect the visual and living environment of the closely settled scenic coastal and hill country areas adjoining the Wilson's Promontory National Park at the southernmost part of the Australian mainland.
Because of technical limitations, wind turbines do not reduce CO2 and other emissions from the overall electricity generation system sufficiently to justify sacrificing the landscapes of la Belle France and the wellbeing of people and bird-life in their vicinity.
Given the enviable efficiency and low emissions of the French electricity generation system why should France blight its landscapes and the lives of many of its people for a technology which is more about gesture politics and greed than combating climate change.
